Satoshi Date was born in Tokyo in 1979. Studying Fashion Design, Women's Wear, at Central Saint Martins College in London. Satoshi has a wide range of art interests and works in a variety of different styles including painting, music, photography, video, as well as fashion. His creativity is always focused on people. He tries to get into their minds and expressions as his creativity and ideas. His inspiration comes from his communication with and observation of people. His work has been exhibited and published in London and Tokyo and one of his garments was selected by the British Library for an exhibition in August 2004, for a project called Phantasmagoria at Hayward Gallery in October 2004. Most recently he had an exhibition of his art work and a fashion performance at Project142 in London in October 2005. He is currently working on BA final fashion show due to take place in 2006.

Professional Activities

14th July 2006 --- Toni&Guy Hair styling show Designer / Stylist Styling whole outlook, Used my other two garments I created for the show.

11th June 2006 --- GOLDEN SCISSORS AWARDS at London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square Designer / Stylist Designed and created clothes for the show in a day. Used my other two garments I created for the show.

Feb-March 2005 --- Alexander McQueen, fashion designer London UK Studio Assistant Played significant role in creating the garment for one of the house's celebrity clients Created patterns of several garments under tight deadlines for the A/W 05/06 runaway show.
Designed original embroideries of final pieces of A/W 05/06 collection. Responsible for fabric dying for the A/W 05/06 collection. Was given complete autonomy to design sophisticated lace decoration.

2004-2005 --- Ark Communications Publisher Tokyo/London
Photographer / Interviewer Photographed and interviewed 10 people for a magazine called "in English"

2004-Current --- The Toy Guns Photographer/ Graphic Design
Photographed 20 gigs in live and 50 of promotion photographs Designed 30 flyers and 3 CD Jackets Coordinated their costume on stage
