Working in areas of tableau, portrait, landscape and still life photography, I create fantasy "otherworldly" looking images mostly inspired by night environments, fairytales, horrors or by myths. My last project Ridinghood from East End are elaborately staged photographs where a girl is portrayed walking through a contemporary suburban landscape. I like the magical nocturnal face of the east London industrial suburbia. As well as fascinated, I am also scared during my night walks in such dangerous places. In my project I wanted to communicate this experience of fascination and fear creating a photographic reinterpretation of Ridinghood's walk in this part of the city. I chose the figure of Ridinghood because she is a generally known heroine who enjoys her walk through the forest but at the same time this walk is dangerous for her.
